Miller's Hat Trick Leads #19 Field Hockey Past La Salle, 6-1

MERION STATION, Pa. – Anna Miller tallied three goals as the 19th-ranked Saint Joseph's field hockey team cruised past La Salle, 6-1, at Ellen Ryan Field on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Quickly.  Saint Joseph's (3-1 overall, 2-0 Atlantic 10) jumped all over the visitors, scoring three times in the first 9:06 of the contest.  Miller fired home on an assist from Emily Peters just 58 seconds into the game to give the Hawks the lead.  Katy Benton then scored her first of the season on a corner to double the lead inside of five minutes.

• Miller netted her second of the day with 5:54 to go in the quarter before Jordan Olenginski tallied with 57 seconds left to give the Hawks a 4-0 lead after the opening stanza.

• Miller finished off her hat trick less than two minutes into the second, taking a feed from Benton after a penalty corner.

• La Salle (0-8 overall, 0-4 Atlantic 10) got on the board through Rialee Allen with 10:36 left in the second to send the teams into halftime at 5-1.

• Peters would get the game's last goal midway through the third; she was denied by La Salle's Ryan Curley, but picked up her own rebound and slotted it home for her second goal of the season.
