PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's baseball team dropped the finale of its weekend series on Sunday, falling at La Salle, 14-5.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• La Salle (29-16 overall, 12-4 Atlantic 10) took the lead on a first-inning wild pitch, but the Hawks would tie it up in the second on an RBI double by
Luca Trigiani. The Explorers then posted six runs in the bottom of the frame to take a 7-1 lead.
• Saint Joseph's (15-15 overall, 9-7 Atlantic 10) began to claw back into the game right away as
Andrew Cossetti hit a two-run home run in the third and
Tim Cavanaugh followed with a solo shot three batters later to cut it to 7-4.

Nate Thomas brought SJU back within two with a solo home run in the top of the fifth, but the hosts answered with a five-spot in the bottom of the inning before adding a pair of insurance runs in the sixth.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• Gabe Rappa allowed five runs on eight hits across five and two-thirds innings for the win, while
Lucas Rollins was charged with seven runs in an inning and two-thirds to take the loss. Colin Yablonski earned the save with three and a thrid shutout innings of relief for the Explorers.
• La Salle's Nick O'Day had a game-high three hits, while Thomas and Trigiani had a pair of hits each for the Hawks. Cossetti drove in two runs and also walked twice as well.
UP NEXT
The Hawks visit Rhode Island for their final road series of the season. The four-game Atlantic 10 North Division set begins on Friday afternoon.
