Sol Borensztein and
Manu Ghigliotti in the second half led the ninth-ranked Saint Joseph's field hockey team past Temple, 2-0, at Howarth Field on Sunday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Temple (5-2) had the best opportunity of the opening quarter, earning a penalty corner with just under three minutes to go, but
Robin Bleekemolen stepped up to make three saves on the sequence and keep things scoreless.

• Saint Joseph's (6-2) had a pair of corners in the second quarter, but could not find the cage as the game went to halftime scoreless.

• The Hawks finally broke through five minutes into the third quarter as
Katy Benton's initial effort was saved, but
Sol Borensztein was there for the rebound and put it past Megan Ragusa for a 1-0 lead.

Manu Ghigliotti doubled the lead midway through the fourth with her seventh goal of the season to give the Hawks some breathing room.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• Bleekemolen finished the day with four saves, while Ragusa made five.

• The Hawks held a 10-7 edge in shots on Sunday, including a 9-3 advantage in the second half. SJU also earned six penalty corner opportunities to three for the Owls.
