MERION STATION, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's field hockey team bounced back from an early deficit to rout Drexel, 7-2, at Ellen Ryan Field on Friday afternoon.
Freke van Tilburg led the way, notching a hat trick and adding an assist for a seven-point day.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Drexel (0-3) opened the scoring three minutes is as Avery Powell took a pass from Isabel Jacobs to put the visitors ahead.
• Saint Joseph's (2-1) wouldn't get things going until the second quarter, but did so in a big way. With just under five minutes to go in the half,
Aiden Drabick scored her first collegiate goal to tie the game. Van Tilburg then converted on a corner a minute and a half later before setting up
Sol Borensztein 80 seconds after that for a 3-1 lead that the Hawks would take into halftime. All told, SJU turned a 1-0 deficit into a 3-1 lead in a span of two minutes and 50 seconds.

Anna Miller tallied her second of the season five minutes into the third quarter before Amber Brouwer got one back for the Dragons.
Nika Hansen then scooped up a loose ball for her second of the year to make it a 5-2 game after three.
• Van Tilburg finished off her hat trick with goals exactly four minutes apart; after tucking home a rebound midway through the quarter, she closed out the scoring on a penalty corner with 3:58 to play.
BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• The Hawks outshot the Dragons, 23-6, while earning a 12-5 advantage in penalty corners. Seven of those corners came in the fourth quarter alone.
• Megan Hadfield made seven saves in the cage for Drexel, while
Robin Bleekemolen made one stop for SJU.
• Miller added an assist to her goal for a three-point day, while
Katy Benton notched two assists.
• Saint Joseph's won its sixth consecutive matchup with Drexel.
