Izzy Greene each scored in an offensive-minded first half, but a second half goal by visiting Dayton lifted the Flyers to a 3-2 win over the Hawks on Thursday evening at Sweeney Field.
How It Happened
• Nevins gave the Hawks a 1-0 lead 5:30 into the match as she scored off a centering pass from
Rachel Brown.
• Dayton's Laney Huber evened the match at 1-1 less than 90 seconds later.
• Itala Gemelli put the Flyers ahead, 2-1, as she collected her own rebound and found the back of the net at 10:59.
• Greene evened the match at 2-2 at 16:26 as she deflected in a pass to the left post by
Morgan Bower.
• Gemelli broke the tie at 66:53 as her shot to the left side from inside the box found the back of the net.
• Saint Joseph's had two scoring chances late, but Dayton's goalkeeper Madelyn Dewey smothered a ball inside the box, while the Hawks' final opportunity was thwarted by an offsides call.
