OLEAN, N.Y. – Saint Joseph's freshman
Erik Reynolds II scored a season-high 21 points, but St. Bonaventure held off the Hawks' late rally to prevail, 80-69, on Saturday afternoon at the Reilly Center.
How It Happened
• The Hawks pushed ahead 12-8 early on a three-pointer by Reynolds II at 15:39.
• St. Bonaventure broke a 14-14 tie with an 11-2 run as Kyle Lofton capped it with a jumper at 6:47 to make it 25-16.
• The Bonnies pushed ahead by 10, but St. Joe's battled back as a three-pointer by
Cameron Brown brought the Hawks to within 31-29 with 1:05 to go in the first half.
• Following a layup by Reynolds II to make it 39-37, St. Bonaventure responded with an 8-2 run to open a 47-39 lead on a Jalen Adaway three-point play at 15:07.
• A three-pointer by
Taylor Funk made it 47-42, but the Bonnies scored the next eight points to extend their advantage to 55-42 on a Jaren Holmes layup.
• St. Bonaventure opened a 66-50 lead, but Saint Joseph battled back as a three-pointer by Funk brought the Hawks to within 69-62 with 1:37 to play.
• The Bonnies closed the contest out at the foul line, going 11-of-12.

• With 21 points, Reynolds II passed his previous season-high of 19, which he scored against George Washington.
• Brown tallied 15 points, while Funk and Obinna added 10 each to join Reynolds II in double figures.
• The Bonnies went 24-for-29 at the free-throw line, while the Hawks were 7-for-8.
• Adaway led all scorers with 22, while Holmes added 20 for the Bonnies.
