Saint Joseph's
Erik Reynolds II finished with a season-high 23 points as the Hawks held off a late charge by visiting Fordham for a 72-69 victory on Saturday afternoon at Hagan Arena.
How It Happened
• With the score tied 10-10 early, Fordham used an 11-2 run to open its biggest lead of the contest, 21-12, on a layup by Kyle Rose at 7:52.
• Saint Joseph's answered back as a pair of free throws by
Taylor Funk capped an 8-0 spurt to tie the contest at 25-25 with 3:41 left in the half.
• The Hawks ended the half on a three-pointer by
Cameron Brown to take their first lead, 31-30.
• Saint Joseph's came out aggressively to start the second half as the Hawks knocked down their first six shots to open a 44-36 gap on layup by
Ejike Obinna just over four minutes in.
• Ahead by nine, St. Joe's saw its lead cut to two, 50-48, with 6:47 to play.
• Reynolds II answered for the Hawks with five consecutive points to push his team ahead 55-48 on a jumper with 5:16 to play.
• Down 67-60 with 1:07 to go, Fordham hit a three-pointer, and off a turnover, made it a two-point contest on a layup by Darius Quisenberry.
• Saint Joseph's knocked down 3-of-4 from the line to extend its lead, but a Quisenberry basket brought the Rams to within 70-67 with :14 to play.
• Funk converted a pair of free throws to push the Hawks ahead by five.
• Fordham's Kyle Rose made it 72-69 on a layup with :08 remaining.
• Off a missed free throw by Saint Joseph's, the Rams had a chance to tie the game at the buzzer, but a desperation shot by Quisenberry missed the mark.

• Reynolds II went 8-of-15 from the field, 3-of-8 from behind the arc, and 4-of-4 from the foul line for a season-best 23 points.
• Reynolds II, who also finished with three rebounds, three assists and two blocks, previously scored a season-high 21 points at St. Bonaventure last Saturday.

Jordan Hall posted his seventh double-double of the year, scoring 15 points to go with a game-high 10 rebounds and five assists.
• Obinna finished with 15 points, with 12 coming in the second half.
• Brown was the fourth Hawk in double figures, scoring 12 on the afternoon to go with six rebounds.
• Saint Joseph's starters accounted for all 72 points.
• Hall and Reynolds II played all 40 minutes.
