#9 Field Hockey Rolls Past Davidson, 6-0

DAVIDSON, N.C. – Lily Santi collected her second hat trick in as many games as the Saint Joseph's field hockey team routed Davidson, 6-0, at Belk Turf Field on Friday night for its eighth consecutive win.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Joseph's (12-3 overall, 6-0 Atlantic 10) wasted no time getting things started as Freke van Tilburg opened the scoring on a corner just two minutes into the game.

• Santi netted her first of the game four minutes later before Leigh James tallied with 1:47 to play in the frame to send the Hawks into the second quarter with a 3-0 lead.

• Santi grabbed her second of the night three minutes into the second quarter to extend the lead before Manu Ghigliotti scooped up a rebound and potted the fifth of the game for the Hawks just before halftime.

• Davidson (3-13 overall, 0-6 Atlantic 10) kept the Hawks off the board in the third quarter, but Santi notched her third goal midway through the fourth quarter.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• Robin Bleekemolen and Janelle Ward split time in the cage for the Hawks; Bleekemolen made the only two saves required on the night.  Three Davidson keepers combined for nine saves.

• Santi added an assist for a seven-point day, her second of the season, while van Tilburg notched three points.

• The Hawks outshot the Wildcats 23-3 for the game and earned nine penalty corners to just one for Davidson.

• With the shutout, the Hawks have now kept Davidson off the scoreboard for seven years; the Wildcats have not tallied a goal against the Hawks since a matchup on October 24, 2015.
