Cameron Brown posted a game-high 19 points and 11 rebounds as Saint Joseph's led wire-to-wire for a 77-59 victory over Sacred Heart on Monday evening at Hagan Arena.
How It Happened
• Saint Joseph's gained control early as it broke a 4-4 tie with a 20-3 run as a three-pointer by
Louis Bleechmore made it 24-7 at 11:37.
• The Pioneers answered with back-to-back three-pointers, but the Hawks responded with an 11-3 run to make it 35-16 on a jumper by
Erik Reynolds II with 1:33 to go in the first half.
• St. Joe's took a 35-18 lead into the second half, but Sacred Heart opened the period on a 17-7 run to cut its deficit to 42-35 on a Raheem Solomon three-pointer at 14:17.
• The Hawks regained control as they scored nine straight points, capped by a layup by
Ejike Obinna at 11:53.
• Ahead 54-42, St. Joe's pulled away for good behind a 21-3 run as a layup by
Lynn Greer III made it a 75-45 contest with under four minutes to play.
