PHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph's heads to Saint Louis for a midweek matchup against the Billikens on Wednesday. Tipoff is slated for 5 p.m. EST with the game streaming nationally on ESPN+ and internationally through the Atlantic 10.
 
ABOUT SAINT JOSEPH'S:
  • The Hawks are 9-14 overall and 5-6 in league play after a Super Bowl Sunday victory at George Mason, 50-45.
  • St. Joe's is scoring 58.9 points for and allowing 61.5 points against, while shooting 40.1% overall, 32.9% from long range, and 72.3% from the line.
  • Freshman Talya Brugler claimed her fifth overall and third consecutive Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week award after averaging 13.5 points and 4.5 rebounds per game against Rhode Island and George Mason.
  • Brugler is leading the Hawks in scoring (10.3), rebounding (5.4), and field goal percentage (51.7%). Her field-goal percentage ranks fourth in the A-10. She's tallied 13+ points in 11 of her last 12 games. In league play, her totals bump to 13.8 ppg, 7.8 rpg, and a 52.2% from the floor.
  • Rookie Mackenzie Smith is the second active leading scorer for St. Joe's with 8.4 points per game. She's connecting on 40.3% of her three-pointer attempts this season, which ranks fourth in the league. Smith joins Brugler as the only Hawks to play in all 23 games this season.
  • First year Laila Fair has returned from injury and been a presence in the Hawks' starting lineup over the past six games. The Middlesex, N.J. native is recording 7.4 points and 4.2 rebounds per game. She's connecting on 54.2% of her shots.
  • Freshman Julia Nyström has become one of the Atlantic 10's best three-point shooters. Since league play began, she's shooting 46.7% from deep for second best in the conference.
  • Since being inserted into the starting lineup, sophomore Olivia Mullins has made the most of her opportunity. She's tallying 10.0 ppg with 11 points against league leading Rhode Island and nine points against Mason. Mullins has hit 8-of-15 overall, including 4-of-8 from deep over those two games.
ABOUT SAINT LOUIS:
  • The Billikens are 7-15 on the year and 3-7 in the A-10 after falling in five of their last six games.
  • SLU is scoring 60.4 points on average and allowing 65.3 points per game, while shooting 39.1% from the field, 26.9% from deep, and 68.8% from the stripe.
  • Ciaja Harbison is the team's top scorer (18.1), but has missed the past two games.
  • Brooke Flowers (11.0) and Natalie McNeal (9.5) round out the top three scorers for SLU, with Flowers adding a team best 11.4 boards per game.
