PHILADELPHIA – After enduring an extremely tough test in No. 9 Maryland, Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse (0-1) will continue their 2022 season by hosting Lehigh (0-0) this Wednesday at 4 p.m. To watch the game, viewers can use ESPN+ nationally, and any international viewers can watch through the Atlantic 10.

ABOUT SAINT JOSEPH'S:
  • Despite falling behind 4-0 in the early part of the first quarter, the Hawks responded with two quick goals by graduate student Rilea Fusco and senior Lauren Figura. Maryland would finish the quarter leading 5-2 before a decisive second quarter put the game out of reach.
  • In the loss, the Hawks were able to get goals from five different players, including the aforementioned Fusco and Figura, as well as two goals from junior Emma O'Neill, and a goal apiece from freshman Bella Miceli and junior Sydney Foster.
  • Senior defender Lindsey Smith led the defense, causing two turnovers in the team's loss. The Flourtown, Pa. native will look to continue her success against a Lehigh attack unit equipped with experience.
  • Despite the loss, Jorden Concordia (0-1) made 14 saves in her debut as the Hawks' goalkeeper.
  • In last season's matchup between Lehigh and Saint Joseph's, Riley Delaney and Kaela Smith scored a combined 4 goals in the Hawks' victory.
ABOUT LEHIGH:
  • Coming off a season where they finished 9-4, Lehigh looks to continue their momentum after winning 9 of their last 11 games last season. This matchup will serve as Lehigh's first of the season.
  • The Mountain Hawks enter this season returning three of their top four scorers from last year. The trio of juniors Katia Carnevale, Gabby Schneider, and Emma Eberhardt combined to score 79 of the team's 171 (46.2%) goals last season.
  • On defense, Lehigh returns senior defenders Emma McGillis and Jenna Garden, who both started in every game last season for the Mountain Hawks. McGillis finished tied for third in caused turnovers for the team last season.
  • The team graduated senior goalie Samantha Sagi, who started every game for Lehigh last season, leading them to their 9-4 record.
  • Jill Redfern is entering her 14th season as the leader of the Lehigh women's lacrosse program. She currently has a 123-87 record heading into the 2022 season.
MATCHUP NOTES:
  • Saint Joseph's and Lehigh have faced each other seven times in the two program's respective history. Lehigh leads the all-time series 6-1 with the only St. Joe's victory being last season's.
