Saint Joseph's
Jordan Hall hit a game-tying jumper to force overtime, but visiting George Mason pulled away in the extra frame, 75-70, on Wednesday evening at Hagan Arena.
How It Happened
• George Mason used an 11-0 run to open a 17-8 lead on a three-pointer by Josh Oduro.
• Down 27-22, Saint Joseph's battled back to take the lead into halftime as it finished the first half on an 8-0 run, capped by a Hall jumper with :10 left in the period.
• The Hawks extended their advantage to six early in the second half, but George Mason retook the lead, 45-43, on a pair of free throws by Xavier Johnson.
• Ahead 50-49, Saint Joseph's used a 10-1 burst to open a 60-50 edge on a Hall jumper with 3:33 remaining.
• The Patriots fought back though, retaking the lead, 63-62, on a D'Shawn Schwartz long two-pointer with :19.3 left.
• After a Saint Joseph's miss, Davonte Gaines was fouled with :08.8 to go.
• Gaines made the first free throw, but missed the second as the Hawks got the defensive rebound down 64-62.
• On the ensuing play, Hall drove down the right wing, and created space to get off a game-tying jumper that slipped through the net at the buzzer to tie the contest.
• The Hawks opened overtime with a three-pointer from
Cameron Brown.
• George Mason scored the next six points to push ahead 71-67 on a pair of Oduro free throws.
• Fouled on a three-point attempt,
Taylor Funk brought the Hawks to within 71-70 with 1:46 left.
• Ahead by one, George Mason's DeVon Cooper made it 73-70 on a layup.
• Out of a timeout, the Hawks' game-tying three-pointer fell short as Oduro was fouled on the rebound and sealed it with a pair of free throws.

• Hall led the Hawks with a team-best 17 points and six assists, to go with six rebounds.
• Brown finished with 15 points and seven rebounds.

Erik Reynolds II scored 16 points and grabbed a season-best eight rebounds.

Ejike Obinna was the fourth Hawk in double figures, finishing with 12 points to go with a game-high nine rebounds.
