Obinna Posts Seventh Double-Double, But Dayton Pulls Away From The Hawks, 74-62

Saint Joseph's Ejike Obinna scored 12 points and had 10 rebounds for his seventh double-double of the season, but visiting Dayton pulled away from the Hawks in the second half for a 74-62 win at Hagan Arena on Saturday afternoon.

How It Happened
• Dayton used a 12-3 run to push its lead from 18-16 to 30-19, as Malachi Smith capped it with a three-pointer at 5:24.
• Six straight points from Erik Reynolds II brought the Hawks to within 30-25.
• The Flyers scored the next six points to push their lead to 11, and held on for a 38-30 lead at halftime.
• Dayton extended its advantage to 14 points early in the second half, but the Hawks battled back as a three-pointer by Cameron Brown brought St. Joe's to within 45-38.
• The Flyers pulled ahead by as many as 17 points, but Saint Joseph's continued to compete as a Brown three-pointer made it 70-62 with :46 to play.
• Dayton sealed the contest from the foul line, going 4-for-4 from the stripe in the final seconds.

• Reynolds II finished with a team-best 16 points and four assists.
• Brown added 11 points, six rebounds and a game-high four steals.
• Obinna tied Jordan Hall for the team lead in double-doubles (seven).
• The Hawks shot 39.6 percent from the field (21-for-53), while Dayton shot 54.2 percent from the floor (26-of-48).
