PHILADELPHIA – The USciences baseball team opened its Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) campaign with a 12-2 loss to Chestnut Hill on Tuesday afternoon at Richie Ashburn Field.

The Devils cut a 4-0 deficit in half with a two-run third as AJ Pena and Joe Duffy led off with back-to-back walks, before coming in to score on an Eddie Parry single and Evan Sinclair sacrifice fly.

Following a scoreless fourth the Griffins would break open the game with a five-run fifth though, taking advantage of an error to score two unearned runs.

Duffy reached base twice as he also doubled.

University of the Sciences is back at home to host Nyack for a doubleheader this Saturday at 12 p.m.
