MERION STATION, Pa. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis squad continued its winning run with a 4-3 win over LIU at the SJU Tennis Complex on Saturday.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The Hawks got off to a good start with a clean sweep of the doubles matches to take a 1-0 lead.

• Nathan Perrone and Alp Sentay made quick work of their singles matches in the first and third flights, respectively, to bring the Hawks to the edge of victory.

• The Sharks pulled within two with a victory in the fourth flight, but Nickolas Frisk gutted out a three-set win in the second flight to clinch the match.

HAWK TALK
"Great win for the Hawks today!" head coach Marc Pibernat said.  "We played a very well-coached team who on top of that is very hungry, as it is their first year as a program, and they have had a very strong season so far with important wins.  Winning the doubles point was crucial for us.  A big shoutout to the top three guys Nate, Nicko, and Alp for winning their doubles and singles but especially Nicko who came up huge for when the team needed it the most.

"It wasn't our best performance overall as a team as I think we didn't play our best tennis at the back of the lineup, and we must bounce right back because the fourth, fifth, and sixth flights are as important as the first three and today we struggled at four, five, and six.  Tomorrow we are facing Drexel and we will have to bring our best game and energy; we're looking forward to it!  Go Hawks!"
