PHILADELPHIA – Borna Markusic celebrated Senior Day by losing just one game at No. 3 singles, while freshman Eli Gan-Dy had to battle in a three-setter at the second flight for his win in USciences men's tennis' last-ever home match on Thursday.
Prior to first serve, the Devils honored the senior class of Markusic, Jack Kosiorowski, Oscar Serra and Brandon Gildea.
Markusic picked up his second singles victory after a 6-0, 6-1 score-line at the third flight.
Kosiorowski also nearly celebrated Senior Day with a win, battling in two close sets, 6-4, 6-4, at the first flight.
Gan-Dy is now tied for the team-lead with six singles victories after his first career triumph at No. 2 singles. After two lopsided sets, 6-0 and 2-6, he and his opponent battled in an 11-9 super-tiebreaker.
University of the Sciences plays its last-ever match tomorrow, traveling to Saint Joseph's for a 1 p.m. first serve.
