Baseball Falls to Fordham in Series Finale, 7-3

BRONX, N.Y. – Five Fordham runs in the middle innings doomed the Saint Joseph's baseball team to a 7-3 defeat at Houlihan Park on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Fordham (12-29 overall, 5-10 Atlantic 10) took the lead in the bottom of the first after scoring on a throwing error.

• Saint Joseph's (24-17 overall, 9-6 Atlantic 10) took the lead in the second on a RBI single by Tim Cavanaugh and a sacrifice fly from Brandon Drapeau.

• The Rams went back ahead with two in the fifth before extending the lead to 6-2 after six.  Another error in the seventh brought home a run to make it 7-2.

• Drapeau hit a solo home run in the top of the ninth, but that would be as close as the Hawks would get.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• Brooks Ey allowed two runs on six hits in seven innings to earn the win, while MIke Falco took the loss after allowing four runs on four hits in two-plus innings.

• Cavanaugh, Andrew Cossetti, and Brendan Hueth each had two hits for the Hawks.
