Women's Basketball Leads Division II in Scoring Defense for Second Time in Five Seasons

For the second time in five seasons, the University of the Sciences women's basketball team led all of Division II in scoring defense.

The Devils became just the sixth team over the last 12 seasons whose opponents averaged under 50.0 points, as they led the 295-team division at 49.8 points per game.

USciences is now one of two teams (Grand Valley State) to finish in the top-eight of Division II scoring defense in each of the last five seasons it has played (the Devils did not play in 2020-21 due to the pandemic).

University of the Sciences has appeared in the top-five in four of those five seasons, also leading the nation at 53.6 points per game in 2016-17.

The Devils held over half of their opponents to 50 points or less, including in four straight postseason games en route to a third Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference (CACC) title in five seasons and a fourth consecutive NCAA Tournament First Round triumph.
