The Saint Joseph's softball team wraps up the 2022 regular season this Sunday as the Hawks host Rhode Island in a doubleheader starting at 11 a.m. Saint Joseph's will honor graduate student Taylor Marinelli and seniors Amanda Herr, Jordan Hinkle and Carly Rybinski with a pregame ceremony.
Saint Joseph's and Rhode Island were originally scheduled to play a three-game series, but Saturday's contest was canceled due to heavy rain in the area.
About Saint Joseph's (20-21Â Overall, 12-8Â Atlantic 10)
• The Hawks have clinched a spot in next week's Atlantic 10 Championship and enter Sunday in fourth place in the Atlantic 10 standings at 12-8.
• Saint Joseph's is coming off a doubleheader split at Big East-leading UConn last weekend.
• Hinkle heads into the weekend with a team-leading .349 batting average and 18 stolen bases.
• Emily Siler is 11-11 in 26 appearances and has posted a 2.92 ERA, while Herr is just behind Siler with a 2.94 ERA in 97.2 innings of work.
About Rhode Island (11-33 Overall, 4-17 Atlantic 10)
• The Rams enter the final weekend of the regular season in eighth place in the A-10 standings and are coming off a series loss at George Mason last weekend.
• At the plate, Rachel Zingerman has scored a team-high 19 runs and is hitting .306, while Ari Castillo has connected on six home runs and 28 RBI to pace Rhode Island.
• In the circle, Liz Lynchard has tossed a team-leading 148.1 innings and enters the weekend with a team-best 111 strike outs.
