PHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph's softball head coach
Gina McCool announced the addition of Chance Colomb to the staff as an assistant coach.
"I'm thrilled to welcome Chance to Hawk Hill! He brings tremendous energy, passion, and a genuine love for the game. His experience working with championship-caliber programs will be invaluable as he makes an immediate impact on our offense and throughout our program," said McCool.
Colomb spent last season at Creighton, helping the Blue Jays to a 32-27 record overall and an appearance in the BIG EAST final. With Colomb working primarily on the offensive side, Creighton set team records for single season stolen bases and runs, also ranking 10th nationally with 124 steals while posting a success rate of 83.2 percent.
Prior to his time in Omaha, he was a coaching intern at Florida State where he helped to coordinate practices and coaching meetings. In his one season with the Seminoles, the team went 49-12 and advanced to a third consecutive NCAA Super Regional. He also spent three seasons as a manager and analyst at Southeastern Louisiana University, handling the day-to-day operations for the Lions.
He got his coaching start at Ascension Catholic High School in Donaldsonville, La., where he led the team to its first district championship and state semifinal appearance in eight years.
A native of Metairie, La., Colomb has a BS in sport management from Southeastern Louisiana and earned an MS in organizational leadership from Creighton.
