LOUISVILLE, Ky. – Julia Shearer of the Saint Joseph's softball team was named NFCA Third Team All-East Region as announced by the organization on Thursday afternoon.
 
Shearer is one of only two Atlantic 10 players selected to an NFCA All-East Region squad.
 
Selected in the Utility/Pitcher position, Shearer hit .286 with 10 doubles, three home runs and was third in the A-10 with 38 RBI. In the circle, she compiled a 3.02 ERA in 20 games, making 13 starts with a 6-8 record and seven complete games. In 88.0 innings, she struck out 78 and walked only 13. Her 6.00 strikeout-to-walk ratio was sixth in NCAA D1 and her 1.04 BB/7IP was eighth nationally.
 
Shearer was previously named to the Atlantic 10 Conference First Team.
