6/17/2026 9:58:00 AM

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – Saint Joseph's softball alumna Sierra Fretz has been called up to the KC Diamonds of the Professional Softball League, the team announced on Wednesday.

Fretz becomes the first professional softball player in SJU history.

As a senior in 2025, Fretz hit .282 with 10 homers and 33 RBI. Her 10 home runs were fourth in the Atlantic 10 and her RBI total was 10th. She also posted a .549 slugging percentage and a .953 OPS as she was named All-Conference First Team as a utility player. With her 10 long balls, she became just the seventh player for the Hawks to hit double digit homers in a single season.

Despite playing just two seasons at St. Joe's, the Green Lane, Pa. native is ninth on the career slugging list with a .538 mark (min. 150 AB), is ninth in career hit by pitch (15) and tied for sixth in sacrifice flies (7).

After taking two of three from the Atlanta Smoke this past weekend, the Diamonds play their first series at home June 17-20 against the Florida Vibe. For more information about the team and the PSL, visit thekcdiamonds.com.
