PHILADELPHIA – With their first conference championship in program history, Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse is heading to the NCAA Tournament for the first time and will take on Rutgers on Friday, May 13, on the campus of Stony Brook University in Stony Brook, New York. Game time is set for 5:30 p.m., and the contest will air on ESPN+.
Rutgers (15-4) received an at-large berth to the tournament after falling to Maryland in the Big Ten title game on Sunday. The Scarlet Knights shared six common opponents with the Hawks; both teams defeated Delaware, Lehigh, and Villanova while falling to Maryland, and Rutgers added wins over Penn State and Temple.
A well-rested group after having downed UMass on Sunday, May 1, the Hawks (14-6) are led by eighth-year head coach
Alex Kahoe and the Atlantic 10 Offensive Player of the Year
Lauren Figura. Figura is joined by four teammates to receive all-league laurels.
