The Saint Joseph's women's soccer team opens play in the 2023 Atlantic 10 Championship this Friday as the sixth seeded Hawks head to third seed Dayton for 7 p.m. match at Baujan Field.

About Saint Joseph's
• Saint Joseph's is making its 13th appearance in the Atlantic 10 Championship, all coming under the guidance of head coach Jess Mannella.
• The Hawks finished the 2023 regular season tied for sixth in the A-10 standings alongside Rhode Island, but earned the higher seed due to the conference tie-breaking rules. St. Joe's record versus common opponents was better than the Rams, giving the Hawks the higher seed.
• Saint Joseph's has earned an A-10 postseason bid in nine of the last 10 seasons, marking the second most by an A-10 program behind only Dayton.
• The Hawks have advanced to the semifinals of the A-10 Championship each of the past two seasons.
• Saint Joseph's and Dayton did not play each other during the regular season, but against common opponents - Fordham, George Mason, George Washington, Loyola Chicago, UMass, Rhode Island and Saint Louis - the Flyers went 5-0-2, while the Hawks were 3-2-2.
• Senior Katie Cappelletti moved into first place all-time in career shutouts this season as the Hawks' starting goalkeeper enters the A-10 Championship with 20 clean sheets to her name, including five this season.
• Saint Joseph's has fared well in its 12 appearances at the A-10 Championship as 10 different Hawks have earned A-10 All-Championship Team distinctions. Goalkeeper Grace Bendon is the lone Hawk to earn A-10 All-Tournament Team honors twice as she was recognized in 2016 and 2017.
