Saint Joseph's freshman
Dasear Haskins will redshirt the 2023-24 season, Hawks' Head Coach
Billy Lange announced on Tuesday.
"We are in full support of Dae's decision. We have great experience throughout our staff on using time to develop our team members in a holistic manner during a redshirt season. We are currently playing three guys who benefited from an intentional plan. Dae will have an impact on our program now and in the future. He's a very good player and an energetic spirit," Lange said.
While Haskins will not compete in games this year, he will retain his four seasons of game eligibility. The 6-foot-8 Haskins came to Hawk Hill after a stellar campaign at nationally-ranked Camden High School. As a senior, Haskins averaged 10 points, 4.7 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game, while helping Camden to a 23-3 record. Additionally, Haskins competed on the prestigious Nike EYBL circuit with the New Jersey Scholars.
