Lynn Greer III brought St. Joe's to within 10-6, but Texas A&M University-Commerce responded with an 11-2 run to open a 21-8 lead.
• Down 21-15, the Hawks battled back to tie the game, 27-27, on a three-pointer by
Kacper Klaczek.
• The Lions responded with an 8-1 run to end the half and take a 35-28 advantage into the second period.
• Down by 10 early in the second half, a three-point play by
Xzayvier Brown brought the Hawks to within 46-41.
• Texas A&M University-Commerce pushed its advantage back to nine, 54-45, with 3:51 to go.
• Saint Joseph's continued to fight back as
Erik Reynolds II capped a 7-1 run with a pair of free throws to bring the Hawks to within 55-52 with :34 to play.
• A free throw by Tommie Lewis gave Texas A&M University-Commerce a 56-52 lead with :12 left.
• A pair of free throws by Klaczek made it 56-54 with under four seconds to go.
• Lewis hit 1-of-2 free throws at the other end to extend the lead to 57-54.
• Despite grabbing the defensive rebound on the errant second rebound, St. Joe's was unable to get a game-tying shot off.
