PHILADELPHIA – Former Saint Joseph's men's basketball standout DeAndre' Bembry will be inducted into the Philadelphia Big 5 Hall of Fame during the Big 5 Classic on Saturday, December 2 at the Wells Fargo Center, organization officials announced on Thursday.

Bembry will be inducted along with Dionne Anthon (Penn), Tyreek Duren (La Salle), and Fran O'Hanlon (Villanova); long-time communications professional at Temple and Saint Joseph's, Larry Dougherty; and former Philadelphia Daily News college basketball writers, Dick Jerardi and Mike Kern.

Making an immediate impact on Hawk Hill as a freshman, Bembry earned Big 5 Rookie of the Year and Atlantic 10 Co-Rookie of the Year honors en route to helping the Hawks capture the 2014 A-10 title. As a sophomore, the 6-foot-6 forward became the first Hawk to lead the A-10 in scoring, averaging 17.7 points per game, garnering All-Big 5 First Team, A-10 First Team All-Conference and USBWA All-District recognition. Bembry continued his ascension in 2015-16 as he led St. Joe's to its second A-10 championship in three years and helped the Hawks advance to the Second Round of the NCAA Tournament. Individually, Bembry was named the Player of the Year in both the A-10 and the Big 5 as he averaged 17.4 points, 7.8 rebounds, 4.4 assists and 1.4 steals per game, and tied the program's single-season mark for most double-figure games with 35.

Bembry was selected 21st overall by the Atlanta Hawks in the 2016 NBA Draft, spending six seasons in the NBA and continues to play professionally currently. On Hawk Hill, Bembry capped his career with 1,590 points and 672 rebounds, ranking 15th and 25th, respectively, all-time at St. Joe's, and guided the Hawks to a 65-36 record over his three years in Crimson and Gray.
