PHILADELPHIA – The Philadelphia Soccer Six awards were released on Monday afternoon, St. Joe's receiving accolades as
Blake Driehuis led the way with All-Star Team honors while
Patrick Vani earned an All-Rookie Team nod.
Driehuis, who earlier this season earned Second Team All-Atlantic 10 honors, led the Hawks with 18 points on the year including a team-high eight goals. The third-highest goal scorer in the regular season in the Atlantic 10, Driehuis bumped up his numbers with a purple patch that saw the junior tally six goals in four games. The New Zealand native earned three goals against Army for the first hat trick for a Hawk player since 2017, while netting three game-winners on the year. Driehuis' strike against Dayton helped the Hawks to the first win over the Flyers since 1995 and only the second win in program history against Dayton.
Vani also earned recognition with a unanimous selection to the All-Rookie team by all six head coaches. The freshman forward stepped in early in the season, earning himself a regular spot on the team sheet. Vani made 16 appearances on the year, including four starts. The rookie added seven shots on the season, tied fifth on the team. Two of his shots were on target for a .286 shot on goal percentage.
