Men's Basketball Faces Iona In Holiday Hoopfest Matchup Saturday At UBS Arena

ELMONT, N.Y. – Saint Joseph's returns to the road for two consecutive games, starting Saturday versus Iona as part of Holiday Hoopfest at UBS Arena. Saturday's contest, part of a three-game event, is set for a 7 p.m. tip, with the contest streaming on FloHoops, and audio available on SJUHawks.com.

• The Hawks are coming off a 74-70 victory over previously-undefeated Princeton on Sunday at Hagan Arena.
• With Sunday's win, St. Joe's extended its winning streak to five games, its first since 2015-16 when the Hawks won six straight from January 10 through January 30.
Erik Reynolds II reached the 20-point mark for the third time this season on Sunday as he finished with 21 points to go with two assists, two rebounds and a steal.
• Among all active Division I players, Reynolds II currently ranks 11th in scoring average (16.1 ppg) and 20th in three-pointers per game (2.48).
Lynn Greer III scored a season-best 18 points against the Tigers, and added a team-high six rebounds and four steals.
Cameron Brown scored 11 points and had four rebounds Sunday.
Xzayvier Brown was the fourth Hawk in double figures versus the Tigers, finishing with 10 points, five rebounds and three assists.
• Averaging 15.0 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game over two games last week, Xzayvier Brown was named A-10 Rookie of the Week on Monday.
• Reynolds II, Greer III, Cameron Brown and Xzayvier Brown have combined to shoot 41.2 percent (84-204) from three-point range this season.

SAINT JOSEPH'S VERSUS IONA
Saturday marks the sixth meeting between the Hawks and Gaels, with St. Joe's holding a 4-1 edge in the series ... Carl Jones, Langston Galloway and C.J. Aiken combined for 79 points in the Hawks' 96-91 win over Iona in the previous meeting on December 28, 2012 at Hagan Arena ... Saint Joseph's is 3-0 at home, and 1-1 on the road versus Iona.

HAWKS EARN NATIONAL RECOGNITION
Saint Joseph's received a vote in this week's Associated Press Top 25 Poll, marking the first time the Hawks received votes since February 29, 2016. All-time, St. Joe's has been ranked in the top 25 of the Associated Press Poll 66 times, reaching as high as #1 during the 2003-04 season.

X MAKING HIS MARK
Rookie Xzayvier Brown has quickly made an impact for the Hawks. Through 10 games, the freshman guard ranks third on the team in scoring (11.9 ppg) and posted a 3:1 assist-to-turnover ratio. Named Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Week on December 11, Brown also was recently named a freshmen to watch by Fox Sports' John Fanta.
