Reynolds II and Greer III Lead Men's Basketball Past George Washington, 81-69

Saint Joseph's Erik Reynolds II scored a game-high 24 points and Lynn Greer III finished with 22 points to lead the Hawks' men's basketball team over George Washington, 81-69, on Saturday afternoon at Hagan Arena.

How It Happened
• Sparked by a three-pointer by Reynolds II, the Hawks jumped out to a 16-1 lead.
• Saint Joseph's pushed its lead to 17, 20-3, on an offensive rebound and follow-up dunk by Ejike Obinna at 14:42.
• A basket by George Washington's Ricky Lindo, Jr., made it 26-13, but the Hawks responded with back-to-back buckets to push ahead 30-13 on a layup by Greer III.
• Saint Joseph's took a 47-27 lead into the second half, but the Colonials used an 18-6 run to open the second period and cut the Hawks' lead to 53-45 on a pair of free throws by Lindo, Jr. at 14:47.
• The Hawks responded by scoring the next four points to push ahead 57-45 on a pair of free throws by Reynolds II with 13:06 to go.
• George Washington cut Saint Joseph's lead to single digits with 5:43 to go as a layup by Maximus Edwards made it 70-62.
• Greer III answered back with four straight points to give the Hawks a 74-62 lead.
• Saint Joseph's allowed the Colonials to get no closer than 10 points over the final five minutes.

• Saint Joseph's starters accounted for 77 of the Hawks' 81 points.
• Reynolds II finished the afternoon 7-14 from the floor, 3-7 from behind the arc and 7-7 from the foul line for 24 points, and added five rebounds and two assists.
• Greer III finished tied for the team lead in rebounds (eight), and had a team-best six assists and four steals to go with 22 points.
• Obinna was 6-7 from the floor and 1-2 from the foul line for 13 points and grabbed seven rebounds.
• Cameron Brown was the fourth Hawk in double figures as he finished with 11 points, eight rebounds and three assists.
