PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team rolled to its first victory of the spring, dispatching Coppin State, 7-0, at the Legacy Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday night.
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Joseph's (1-1) took the early lead via a pair of 6-4 wins in the first two doubles flights.
• The Hawks steamrolled through singles, winning all five contested points in straight sets.
Sophia Amato won her match at love in the third set, while
Ireland Amato was on the cusp of a clean sweep when her opponent retired.
• In total, the Hawks dropped just eight games in singles play.
