PHILADELPHIA – The Saint Joseph's women's tennis team rolled to its first victory of the spring, dispatching Coppin State, 7-0, at the Legacy Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday night.
 
HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Joseph's (1-1) took the early lead via a pair of 6-4 wins in the first two doubles flights.
 
• The Hawks steamrolled through singles, winning all five contested points in straight sets.  Sophia Amato won her match at love in the third set, while Ireland Amato was on the cusp of a clean sweep when her opponent retired.
 
• In total, the Hawks dropped just eight games in singles play.

"First match in the win column; everyone healthy played and contributed to the success," head coach Ian Crookenden said.  "I'm very happy for our squad."
 
UP NEXT
The Hawks return to Legacy next Saturday for a matchup against Delaware State.
