ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Saint Joseph's baseball team opened its weekend series at Saint Louis on Friday night, falling by a 4-2 score at the Billiken Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Joseph's (12-17 overall, 4-3 Atlantic 10) took the lead in the top of the second on a sacrifice fly by
Luke Zimmerman.

• Saint Louis (20-11 overall, 6-1 Atlantic 10) answered in the bottom of the frame, scoring four times – three with two outs – to take a 4-1 lead.

Justin Igoe hit a sacrifice fly of his own in the top of the sixth to cut the deficit to two.

• The Hawks threatened in the eighth, putting the leadoff man aboard, but a line drive down the first base line was snared and turned into a double play, one of three turned by the Billikens in the game.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• Henry Litman allowed two runs and scattered nine hits across six and a third innings to earn the win, while Ethan Bell tossed two and two-thirds shutout innings for the save.Â
Will McCausland allowed just one hit outside the second inning, but took the loss after allowing four runs on three hits in six innings. He struck out six on the night.
