RICHMOND, Va. – The Saint Joseph's baseball team dropped the final game of its weekend series at Richmond, falling to the Spiders, 7-2, at Pitt Field on Sunday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• After three scoreless innings, Richmond (12-16 overall, 1-2 Atlantic 10) opened the scoring via a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the fourth.

• Saint Joseph's (10-13 overall, 2-1 Atlantic 10) went ahead in the top of the fifth.Â
Ryan Picollo and
Brandon Drapeau started the inning with back-to-back singles before advancing on a bunt by
Luca Trigiani.Â
Brett Callahan then tied the game with a groundout before
Conlan Wall doubled home the go-ahead run.

• Unfortunately for the Crimson and Gray, the lead would be short-lived, as the Spiders would score five unearned runs in the bottom of the inning and add another run in the sixth.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• Kyle Subers was the winning pitcher for Richmond, tossing four and a third shutout innings, allowing three hits while striking out nine in relief of starter Jeremy Neff.Â
Domenic Picone took the loss, allowing one earned run on two hits in four and two-thirds innings.

UP NEXT
The Hawks will host Penn on Wednesday afternoon at Smithson Field; the game was previously slated for Tuesday, but was pushed back a day due to weekend scheduling changes involving the Quakers.
