NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – The Saint Joseph's women's lacrosse team are set to defend its title, earning the third seed at the Atlantic 10 Championships next week in Richmond, Va.
VCU hosts the six-team tournament, the Hawks receiving it's path to look to repeat after winning a year ago. SJU faces #6 St. Bonaventure in the first round, a rematch from a 13-11 contest three weeks ago on Sweeney Field. The first round matchup is set for Thursday, May 4 at 3 p.m.
Winner of the first round matchup faces #2 Richmond at 3 p.m. on Friday, May 5. On the other side of the bracket, #4 Davidson and #5 George Washington meet for a chance to play #1 UMass in the early matchup on Friday in the semifinals.
