RICHMOND, Va. – Saint Joseph's
Maddie Anderson scored a pair of goals in the final 15 minutes of the match to lift the Hawks past Richmond, 3-2, on Sunday afternoon at President's Field at River Road.
How It Happened
• After a scoreless first half,
Chloe Khelil put the Hawks ahead 1-0 as she scored from inside a scrum in front of the Richmond goal at 55:50.
• The Spiders answered back less than three minutes later as Emma Shields scored to make it 1-1.
• Richmond pushed ahead 1-0 less than three minutes after its first goal as Casey Merz made it 2-1 at 61:12.
• Anderson evened the match at 2-2 at 76:40 as she took a centering pass and quickly found the back of the net.
• St. Joe's regained the lead in similar fashion as Anderson took a centering pass and deposited a shot to the bottom left of the goal to make it 3-2.
• The Hawks' defense made the lead stand as they held Richmond without a shot for the remainder of the game.
