• The Hawks scored the first basket of the contest, but Duquesne scored 10 of the next 13 points to take a 10-5 lead.
• Sparked by a dunk by
Shawn Simmons II, Saint Joseph's used a 14-0 run to open a 27-16 advantage on a three-pointer by
Christ Essandoko at 9:01.
• The Dukes slowly chipped away at the Hawks' lead as it used a 10-3 run to cut St. Joe's advantage to 40-38 at halftime.
• Saint Joseph's scored the first six points of the second half to open a 46-38 lead on a layup by
Lynn Greer III.
• Duquesne slowly battled back as the Dukes regained the lead, 59-58, on a David Dixon layup with 6:07 to play.
• The lead changed hands four times from there as
Rasheer Fleming tied the game at 67-67 on a layup with 1:42 remaining.
• Following a Duquesne turnover, Greer III edged the Hawks back in front, 69-67, on a basket with 1:21 to go.
• Duquesne's Matus Hronsky tied the game at 69-69 on a jumper with :08 left.
• Out of a timeout, a jumper by Greer III missed its mark, but
Cameron Brown quickly grabbed the offensive rebound and put back the go-ahead layup with :00.3 to go.
• After an official review for timing, the Dukes failed to get a shot off as the buzzer sounded.
