OLEAN, N.Y. – Saint Joseph's had its three-game win streak snapped at St. Bonaventure on Friday evening as the Hawks fell to the Bonnies, 91-72, at the Reilly Center.
How It Happened
• In a first half that featured seven lead changes and six ties, Saint Joseph's opened a 12-8 lead early on back-to-back baskets by
Lynn Greer III.
• St. Bonaventure answered back as a jumper by Moses Flowers gave the Bonnies a 17-15 edge at 13:59.
• A fast-break layup by
Erik Reynolds II capped a 12-2 run by the Hawks that gave St. Joe's a 27-19 lead.
• Countering with a 14-2 run of its own, St. Bonaventure opened a 33-29 lead on a Daryl Banks III three-pointer with 6:13 remaining in the half.
• Saint Joseph's cut its deficit to one, 42-41, on a layup by
Christ Essandoko, but the Bonnies connected on a three-pointer in the final minute to take a 45-41 advantage into halftime.
• Saint Joseph's opened the second half as the aggressor and quickly retook the lead, 50-48, on a Greer III layup less than three minutes in.
• A three-pointer by Flowers gave St. Bonaventure the lead again, 56-54, before Reynolds II tied the contest at 56-56 on a jumper at 14:37.
• Ahead 60-58, St. Bonaventure used a 19-4 run that spanned nearly seven minutes as the Bonnies opened a 79-62 advantage on a Chad Venning layup with 6:45 to play.
• The Hawks would get no closer than 14 from there as they had their three-game win streak snapped.
