BRONX, N.Y. – The Saint Joseph's men's cross country team recorded its best finish at the IC4A Championship since 2019, taking fifth place on Friday morning in Van Cortlandt Park.
ABOUT THE EVENT
- The men competed in a field of 269 runners, 24 teams racing in the 8k event at Van Cortlandt Park.
- St. Joe's finished fifth, the best result since a third-place finish in 2019.
- The Hawks finished with 141 points, only five points shy of Colgate in fourth place.
HOW THE HAWKS FINISHED
- The Hawks landed three runners in the top 25, led by a 16th-place finish from Will Rau with his time of 24:56.9.
- Michael Glavin crossed the line just eight-tenths behind his teammate, securing 17th with his time of 24:57.7 to set a new personal best in the 8k.
- Dawson Baptiste set a new personal best in the race as well, rounding out the trio in the top 25 with a 25:00.4 to secure 21st. Baptiste's time was more than 27 seconds quicker than his previous best set at the Paul Short Run two weeks prior.
- Kevin Jumper was the fourth Hawk to cross the finish, taking 40th with his effort of 25:25.2. Rounding out the scoring, Josh Forrest's time of 25:32.8 proved good for 47th place.
- Aidan Doherty and Brendan Hefferan were separated by just .5 seconds, taking 59th and 60th in the race with times of 25:40.1 and 25:40.6. Hefferan bested his debut in the 8k event at the Paul Short Run by over 20 seconds.
- Ryan Cichocki followed closely behind the two Hawk runners, securing a time of 25:43.7 for 64th.
- Another pair of Hawks finished back-to-back as Carter Geer (25:46.1) and Matt Hoffman (25:47.3) finished 67th and 68th, marking 10 Hawks to finish in the top 70 of the meet.
- Tomek Przybylak concluded his morning with a time of 26:02.8, finishing in the top 100 of the field of 269.
- Colton Johnson recorded a time of 26:09.2 to finish in the top half of the field.
