CEDARVILLE, Ohio - The Saint Joseph's men's cross country team earned a runner-up finish on Saturday, placing second overall in the 14-team field at the 2025 Atlantic 10 Championship, marking the program's best finish since 2019.
About the Event:
- The 8K event was held at the Elvin R. King Cross Country Course, hosted by Dayton.
- A total of 14 Atlantic 10 teams participated, with 128 athletes competing for A-10 championship honors.
- Loyola Chicago won the A-10 Men's Cross Country Championship, its third title in four years, with five Ramblers finishing in the top 10.
How the Hawks Finished:
- Gavin Mogck led the Hawks with an impressive 11th-place finish, crossing the line in 24:15.7 to earn All-Conference First Team honors.
- Just 4.4 seconds behind him, Michael Glavin secured 12th place in 24:20.1, also earning All-Conference honors while setting a new personal best.
- Ryan Cichocki continued his strong season, placing 18th overall in 24:36.6, a top-20 finish and a new personal best.
- Will Rau was next to finish for the Crimson and Gray, finishing 31st in 24:48.7.
- Close behind, Jay Shanahan clocked a 24:49.0 for a 32nd-place finish, rounding out the Hawks' top five scoring performances.
- Matt Hoffman crossed the line in 25:13.6, with Noah Deckert close behind in 25:30.3.
- Brendan Hefferan ran 25:32.6, and Josh Forrest added a 25:40.6 finish to round out the next pair of Hawks.
- Rounding out the Hawks' lineup, Anthony Gargani finished in 26:16.5.
