• Saint Joseph's opens the road portion of its 2024-25 schedule on Friday as the Hawks continue Big 5 play as they take on Penn at 8 p.m. at The Palestra.
• The Hawks are coming off an 83-76 victory over Villanova on Tuesday, and with a win on Friday, can advance to the Toyota Big 5 Classic title game for the second straight year.
• St. Joe's enters Friday with a 136-120 all-time record in the Big 5 and has captured 21 titles, including last year's inaugural Big 5 Classic crown.
• Rasheer Fleming scored 19 points and Xzayvier Brown added a career-best 13 assists to go with 18 points in Tuesday's win over Villanova, 83-76.
• Brown tied Bob McNeill for the second-most assists in a game at St. Joe's, one shy of Rap Curry and Tom Haggerty's record of 14.
• Fleming was efficient from the field, going 7-9 from the floor and 4-4 from the foul line.
• Derek Simpson scored 16 points, tied Brown for the team-lead with six rebounds, and handed out four assists.
• Anthony Finkley finished with a career-best 12 points, going 4-6 from behind the arc, and adding four rebounds.
• The Hawks hold a 56-37 edge in the all-time series against the Quakers.
• Saint Joseph's has won five straight against Penn, including a 69-61 victory last year at Hagan Arena.
