ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Four members of the Saint Joseph's men's tennis team opened the weekend at the Navy Invitational with both singles and doubles action on Friday.
Both
Eli Gan-Dy and
Matthew Cizmarik were in action in the Green singles draw, with Gan-Dy rolling past Oumar Diallo of Bucknell, 6-1, 6-3, while Cizmarik fell to Andre Ajed of Binghamton.
John Butler was slotted into the Yellow draw and cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win over Navy's Marcus Zhang, while
Hector Fullone opened play in the Orange flight by falling to Mark Taranov of Richmond.
Cizmarik and Fullone had more success in the White doubles draw, beating their opponents by a 6-1 score, while Butler and Gan-Dy fell in their Red flight opener.
Play continues through the weekend.
