NEWARK, N.J. – The Saint Joseph's men's tennis team dropped a 6-1 result to NJIT at the Naimoli Family Athletic and Recreational Facility on Wednesday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• NJIT (5-0) took the early lead with a sweep of all three doubles flights.

• The Hawks got on the board via Jack Campbell, who rallied for a 5-7, 6-4, 10-6 win in the fifth singles flight, but the Highlanders won the remaining flights to finish off the victory.

HAWK TALK
"Although the score says 6-1, the Hawks competed well today," head coach Jeff Puhan said.  "We were a couple points away from the doubles point.  Ernesto and Stergios had their chances before falling in three tough sets, and Othman had his chances before falling 7-5.  The game ball tonight goes to Jack Campbell, who battled back in three sets after giving up the first with multiple chances to close.  He showed grit out there today.

"The guys are improving; this shows us we can compete with these teams.  Back to work tomorrow to prepare for Lafayette on Saturday."

The Hawks will host Lafayette at the Legacy Indoor Tennis Center on Saturday night.
