KINGSTON, R.I. – The Saint Joseph's baseball team dropped the second game of its weekend series at Rhode Island on Saturday as the Rams came away with a 7-2 win at Bill Beck Field.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Rhode Island (11-17 overall, 4-4 Atlantic 10) took the lead in the bottom of the first on a two-run double by Michael Anderson.

• Anderson doubled the lead in the third with a two-run home run and tacked on another run with an RBI fielder's choice by Eric Genther in the fourth.

• Saint Joseph's (12-18 overall, 3-5 Atlantic 10) threatened in the sixth, notching its first hit of the day and loading the bases with two outs, but starter Sean Sposato escaped the jam with a strikeout.

• Michael Borrelli hit an RBI double in the seventh before Will Hindle scored on a wild pitch to extend the lead to 7-0.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• Sean Sposato held the Hawks without a hit into the sixth, finishing the day with seven shutout innings to go with three hits and seven strikeouts to earn the win.Â
Ryan DeSanto took the loss, allowing four runs on six hits in three innings of work.
