TYSONS, Va. – Saint Joseph's junior outfielder
Ryan Cesarini and sophomore pitcher
Ryan DeSanto were named to the 2024 Atlantic 10 Baseball All-Championship Team at the conclusion of this week's tournament.
Â
Cesarini was 12-for-23 in the Championship, tied for the most hits on the week, and scored 10 runs while driving in a tournament-high 11. The Archbald, Pennsylvania, native also tied for the tournament lead with five home runs and added three doubles and two stolen bases. He recorded two multi-home run games, hitting two apiece in elimination games against Saint Louis and Richmond, as the Hawks enjoyed their longest stay in the tournament in program history.
Â
DeSanto turned in one of the all-time great starts in Hawk history, tossing a four-hit shutout while striking out a career-high 12 as the Hawks routed top-seeded Saint Louis, 14-0, in an elimination game on Thursday. Hailing from Frederick, Maryland, DeSanto earned a spot on last season's All-Championship Team as well and has tossed 16.0 shutout innings across two career postseason starts, allowing just seven hits and three walks while fanning 17.
Â
Cesarini and DeSanto were joined on the All-Championship Team by Most Outstanding Performer Brandon Eike, William Bean, Nick Cosentino, Christian Gordon, and Eli Weisner from VCU; Jack Arcamone, Phil Bernstein, Jordan Jaffe, and Kyle Roche from Richmond; and George Washington's Michael Foltz.
