Box Score 2 AMHERST, Mass. – The Saint Joseph's softball team fell to UMass, 4-3 and 3-2, on Saturday afternoon.
How It Happened - Game One
• A solo home run by Abby Packard gave the Minutewomen a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth.

Kayla Tauber tied the game at 1-1 in the top of the fifth with a RBI single that scored
Meghan Sinkus.
• With
Sarah Cancila at first base in the top of the sixth,
Sierra Fretz laid down a bunt that was mishandled by the Minutewomen that allowed Cancila and Fretz to score and give the Hawks a 3-1 edge.
• Sarah Keagy connected on a two-run home run in the bottom of the sixth to tie the game at 3-3.
• Bella Pantoja broke the tie with a walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the seventh to give UMass the 4-3 win.

Emily Siler allowed three runs on four hits over 5.0 innings, while striking out two.
• Reliever
Jules Scogna moved to 1-5 as she allowed one run on two hits over 1.1 innings.

How It Happened - Game Two
• Saint Joseph's took a 1-0 lead in the top of the first on a RBI single by
Riley York that scored Tauber.
• A wild pitch allowed Pantoja to score from third to tie the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the first.
• UMass took a 3-1 lead in the bottom of the third on a two-run single by Odyssey Torres.
• The Hawks got within 3-2 as Tauber scored on a sacrifice fly by
Hailey Malito in the fifth.
