PHILADELPHIA – Saint Joseph's
Natalie Nevins recorded her second goal of the season as the Hawks' women's soccer team earned a 1-1 draw at La Salle in its Atlantic 10 opener on Sunday afternoon.
How It Happened
• Nevins put the Hawks ahead 1-0 at 1:45 off a direct kick from outside the La Salle box.
• The Explorers knotted the match at 1-1 on a goal by Haley Gschrey at 17:16.
• La Salle looked to take the lead later in the first half, but Saint Joseph's goalkeeper
Katie Cappelletti made a key save on a shot by Alexis Garcia.
• In a back-and-forth second half, both teams had multiple scoring chances, but neither squad could tally the go-ahead goal.
