RICHMOND, Va. – The Saint Joseph's field hockey team fell to Richmond, 2-0, at Crenshaw Field on Friday evening.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• The first half saw the Hawks have the advantage through the first quarter and the Spiders wrest it away in the second, but neither team found the cage in the opening 30 minutes.

• That changed shortly after the restart as Richmond (9-5 overall, 4-1 Atlantic 10) got on the board through Clara Larippa just 1:37 into the third quarter.

• It was déjà vu all over again for Saint Joseph's (7-7 overall, 2-2 Atlantic 10) as the Spiders doubled their lead 1:39 into the fourth as Valen Luna Paratore scored on an assist from Larippa.

• The Hawks had eight corners over the final two periods and outshot the Spiders 12-1 in the fourth, but UR's Amanda Cimillo made seven saves to lead Richmond to the win.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• Cimillo finished with 12 saves on the day while
Paige Kieft made two for SJU.

• The Hawks held an 18-9 advantage in shots and a 12-4 lead in shots on target. The Hawks also earned nine penalty corners while conceding only three.
