PHILADELPHIA –
Jaiden Glover-Toscano returned to the lineup with a career-high 29 points as the Saint Joseph's men's basketball team closed non-conference play with an 87-65 win against the Arcadia Knights on Sunday afternoon.
BY THE NUMBERS
- Glover-Toscano went 6-for-12 from beyond the arc in the game, adding four rebounds.
- Khaafiq Myers posted a career-high for the third consecutive contest, scoring 14. He also had five rebounds.
- Al Amadou had one of his best collegiate games with nine points, five rebounds, three assists and two blocks, playing a personal best 27 minutes.
- Dasear Haskins scored 12. Anthony Finkley led SJU with seven boards.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Hawks jumped out to an 8-2 lead thanks to three-pointers from Finkley and Glover-Toscano. Arcadia responded, scoring 13 of the next 16 points.
- SJU answered, scoring 19 in a row, opening a 34-18 lead on a Myers layup with 6:08 remaining in the half. Al Amadou played a key role in the stretch, providing energy, along with four points, two rebounds and an assist. Glover-Toscano delivered as well with six points in the span.
- The run continued as St. Joe's posted 33 of the final 47 points of the first half, en route to a 44-29 lead at the break.
- Arcadia hung around early in the half, cutting the lead down to 11 with 16:09 to go. From there, Saint Joseph's went on another extended run, outscoring the Knights 15-8 during a six-minute stretch to go up by 25 points.
