ST. LOUIS, Mo. – The Saint Joseph's baseball team fell to Saint Louis, 8-4, on Sunday in the finale of the weekend series between the two teams at the Billiken Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
• Saint Joseph's (6-12 overall, 1-2 Atlantic 10) got on the board in the top of the first as
Carson Applegate ripped a solo shot over the wall in left.

Joey Gale led off the third with a double, advanced on an infield single by
Alex Kelsey, and scored on a sacrifice fly by
Colin Myers to double the lead.

• Saint Louis (10-9 overall, 2-1 Atlantic 10) went ahead with five two-out runs in the fifth, headlined by a go-ahead three-run home run by Brenden Stressler.

• The Billikens tacked on two in the sixth and another in the seventh to extend the lead to 8-2.

Tim Dickinson drew a one-out walk in the top of the ninth before
Joey Pagano went deep to center to set the final margin.

BEHIND THE BOX SCORE
• Josh Cunningham worked seven innings, allowing two runs on six hits, to earn the win.Â
Nathan Stein got the start for the Hawks, running into trouble in the fifth after tossing four and two-thirds innings; he allowed four runs on four hits while striking out five in defeat.

• Pagano led the Hawks with two hits, two RBI, and a run scored.
