Paige Kieft and Adele Jardemar Earn Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Weekly Honors

WASHINGTON – Saint Joseph's graduate student goalkeeper Paige Kieft was named the Atlantic 10 Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon, while sophomore back Adèle Jardemar was also tabbed as the league's Rookie of the Week.
 
Kieft was outstanding in her first two games in a Saint Joseph's uniform, stopping seven shots on Saturday as the Hawks went to a shootout with #11 UConn.  In the first sudden-victory round of the shootout, Kieft made a key stop that allowed the Hawks to claim the victory one attempt later.
 
The Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, native then made six more saves, including three in a row late in the third quarter, as the Hawks blanked host New Hampshire, 2-0, on Sunday.
 
Jardemar made an impact in her first two games as a Hawk as well, assisting on the game's first goal in Saturday's opener against #11 UConn.  On Sunday, the Saint Germain en Laye, France, product assisted on both goals as the Hawks shut out host New Hampshire, 2-0.
 
Saint Joseph's, ranked ninth in the nation in the NFHCA Preseason Coaches Poll, returns to action on Sunday with a visit to #18 Penn State.
